Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the judgments surface collects and uses information.
Data we collect
- Server logs (IP address, user-agent, request path, and timestamp).
- Authenticated access uses a JWT session cookie named
process.env.RLA_COOKIE_NAME (default: rla_session).- FIRAC summary access is logged in Postgres for quota and abuse control (table:
firac_access_log; fields: user_id, rid, and accessed_at).- Search queries are sent to OpenSearch to retrieve results.
How we use data
- Provide search and FIRAC summary functionality.
- Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
- Monitor and secure the service.
Cookies & tracking
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the judgments site.
- The session cookie is essential for authenticated features.
Retention
- Nginx access logs are rotated daily and retained for approximately 14 days on the VPS.
- Access-log entries are retained to support quota enforcement and security reviews.
Security
- We use TLS in transit and limit access to production systems.
